openoffice download powerpointWhy do people buy microsoft word/powerpoint when you could download openoffice?

i mean i heard that openoffice is free and microsoft is obviously not. so why do people buy microsoft? does openoffice mess up your computer or something?
Why do you care how I spend my money?
People feel more comfortable with Microsoft, even when they don't completely trust them. They feel that for their money, they're buying support and reliability in addition to the software.

It's also easier to get help from a friend or co-worker with Word or Excel than it is for Openoffice's programs.

Sun isn't a name most PC users would even recognize.

Hope that helps.
That is because openoffice is not entirely compatible with MS Office.

The documents do not keep their formatting when being transfered between the two office suites. The OpenOffice document format ODF is not even compatible between other open source office suites. It is basicaly a complete mess if you use openoffice documents.

OpenOffice also required Java to be installed. This takes up more harddrive space and memory resources.

I tend openoffice download powerpointto favour SSuite Office’s free office suites. Their software also don’t need to run on Java or .NET, like so many open source office suites, so it makes their software very small and efficient.

Most people are not aware that OpenOffice is available for WIndows computers. It was originally a Linux only program, and could not be run on Windows computers. It is only in the last couple years that a Windows version of Open Office has become available.

Before that time MS Office became the standard, and people tend to stick with what they know.

Usually MS Office is what they use a work, or what they are told they need for school. So they tend to want it rather than a program they do not know. They are also concerned that they might put in hours of work on something using Open Office, and then not have it work when their boos or instructor tries to open it. So they play it safe and spend the money for the MS version.

Also OpenOffice lacks some of the most advanced features of MS Office. For 90% oopenoffice download powerpointf us, we will never use those features. But should we suddenly need them and not have them, it could cost us a job, a good grade, a promotion, etc.

OpenOffice is an excellent program, and I use it regularly on a couple of computers that I did not want to spend money for MS Office for. It is safe to use, works well, and compatible with MS Office. If you have never tried, it is worth playing with. (Its free. If you don't like, delete it and keep using MS Office. It will not cost you anything.)

But most people stay with MS Office simply because that is what they already know.
Google Docs is much better you don't need to download and you can view upload and download and edit your documents from any computer that can go on the web. Excel, Powerpoint, and Word. Cool, no?

Were you familiar with this Google product?
no it is just the matter of not downloading something that takes time. also some people like to use Microsoft office because it is better in some ways
