alta vista image searchWhy can't I turn off safe search?
Just so you all know, I do know how to work the safe search preference. But, the problem is it just doesn't work. When I told people about my problems they suggested that I should deal with the cookies, but it still doesn't make any changes. I always also given other advice, both those don't work either. I have tried everything people have suggested, but I still cannot get it to turn off, or even on moderate. This problem is only happening with Google and Yahoo, no other search engines that I know of are having these problems. But the others aren't all that great. I use Dog Pile, which is supposedly a combination of Yahoo, Google, Ask, and Bing, but the results are only 4 pages long. Ask always switches safe search back on after just turning to the next page. There is also Bing and it does work better than both Dog Pile and Ask, but the results are all X's (They got that little red X at the corner of the result). Now as previously stated: I do know how to work the safe search filter, I do know how to set on moderate, strict, or off. The problem is I just can't.
I want to make it perfectly clear that I am not talking about watching adult content such as pornography. I'll admit, it is one of the reasons why I want safe sealta vista image searcharch off, but I usually like it off because no matter what you look up you get better results. I've tried while looking up Military Action Figures, and it has a whole lot better results when the safe search is off.
If you suggest that my parents may have something to do with it, they don't. Just yesterday I asked my mom if she knew anything about it and she said she didn't. No one in my family has altered the safe search.
I have tried using other search engines, but the majority of what I found are too much like Dog Pile. if you have any suggestions, please offer some. But, just do not mention Alta Vista, because the image searching on there is blocked here. You didn't indicate what security products you have installed but some security venders (such as Norton) include a safe search feature that would supercede your search engine and browser settings. You may want to see if your security suite includes such a feature.
Also, I can't seem to determine which web browser you are using by your message above. Its security settings may be interfering as well.
You'll probably need to be in the administrator account to change any of the above settings.

There is a man in our neighborhood who was recently diagnosed with stage four lung cancer. He's 43, a marathon runner and never smoked a day in his life. He has a wife and three young children. This family is probably one of the kindest families I have ever met. When my husband was in a serious car crash they sat with him (a total stranger) when I absolutely had to go to work. They babysat our children. They brought us meals. This is the kind of people they are and their kindness has touched every person in the neighborhood.
We have decided to pull together a fundraiser/benefit for them. Something to help offset the costs of the experimental treatment he is undergoing as well as something to lift their spirits some.
How I'd like to anonymously do something a little nice for them.
Some of the best moments for me have been when someone (person unknown) has done something kind and unexpected. Whether it's an anonymous note in the mailbox or whatever.
I've like to leave them little notes of encouragement every so often but I'd also like to leave little quotes or poems of strength and inspiration.
If anyone could offer some links or suggestions I'd appreciate it.

lost season 5 explanationThe variable..Lost season 5 episode...what do you think?
I just finish watching the show this morning... I thought It needed to be longer, and give more explanations of things.
Since I watch the episode online i didn't geT a chance to see the preview of next week episode.
My theory is...
if everything hap pend for a reason...maybe the daniel was supposed to die. But the "variable" is Jack.
Daniel told Jack that they don't belong there...not sayer but Jack.
Daniel's mother new he was going to be shoot, and she knew that the only one that could help was Jack. That's way when Eloise is in the hospital she says that for the first time she doesn't know whats going to happen next, maybe she send Jack to the past to help Daniel.
I'm don't really have a theory on how the show will end but my idea is that somehow this season they are going to find a way to go back to the present.
This season Daniel is going to fail his attempt to detonate the bomb. So the "accident" is going to hap pend, Jack and the others are going to seek refuge inside a cave or the temple And find a way back.
Then season 6 will be about preventing the new LOSTies to destroy the island...I think Daniels father pay them to detonate the bom..so they have to team up with the others to save the island...that is their destiny.
I just have one Little question in my head... remember season 1... adam and eve on the cave???

When present Eloise was arguing with Widmore, she seemed too disturbed when she was talking about "sacrifice" for Daniel to have survived. It must have been torture for her to raise him with she knew must happen.
Daniel saying that Choice can triumph Destiny, and then getting killed while trying to make Choice work is another example of how the writers are saying that Fate will win in the Fate v.s. Free Will theme. Jack and Locke were the earliest example of this conflict, and know Jack's starting to trust Fate and Locke is even more Faithful.
I think Daniel spent 3 years studying at DHARMA headquarters trying to convince himself there was a way to save Charlotte. But he didn't know when he would have to make his move, until he saw that photo of Jack,Kate and Hurley, with all the people back on the island, except the "special" ones Desmond, Walt, and maybe Aaron (considering how his family's connected to the island) Daniel thought he could erase everything, but it didn't work.

I use Opera Search Engine to download torrents on my Macbook, I was downloading a torrent from btjunkie and I clicked download torrent, after you click that a menu pops up asking if you want to open file and/or save file. Well I am pretty sure I clicked open file then I checked the box that saidbtjunkie downloads search engine, "Do not ask me this again." Well turns out that was the wrong setting and I do not know how to change the setting to get back to that box once I click on download torrent. All i get now is when i do click on download torrent, like 30 or 40 tabs pop up in the address bar that ends up sayingbtjunkie downloads search engine blank. I tried deleting Opera then re-enstalling it but the settings were still the same when i tried downloading torrents...PLEASE HELP!

the very concept of a rock and roll hall of fame is lame. it's nothing more than jann wenner's personal fan club. this is the same guy who's rolling stone magazine back in the early 70's said led zeppelin was pretty much the worst rock band in existence. try to get him or any of the critics that panned zeppelin back then to admit that now though.

They have to make an album by a certain date and the committee naturally will choose some bands over others, like Led Zeppelin was inducted in 95' and made their first album in 69'. But Black Sabbath was inducted in 06' and made their first album in 71' . So they miss bands to get the most influential ones and then go back and get the equally famous but less influential bands.
First one is easy. How many Boston albums can you name? 3?? And Third Stage should have been flushed down the toibands in bostonlet before it was ever released. I think they wrote about 3 songs and arranged each about three ways. My Destination and Amanda are the same song, not even different arrangement, just different tempo.

I recenlty found out my friend told her 6 year old son that there isn't really a Santa Claus, even though he still beleived in Santa.
I think Santa is the one pure innocent thing children have now a days and taking that away so young is unfair.
How old do you think a child should be told about Santa?
Personally my parents never actually told me, I belived for so long until I just figured it out. They still stuff my stocking and leave an unwrapped prestent under the tree for me. I'm 27 and don't even live with them anymore. =)
I think what your parents did was the right thing. Why tell a child? If a child asks, and asks and they are still young you tell them if you BELIEVE he is real. Just because you don't see something doesn't mean it actually exist. Your parents sound really cool, you are lucky.. =)

sneezing soundDoes anyone's dog hyperventilate or make a weird sneezing sound?
Sometimes my dog makes this sneezing sound over and over again like she is hyperventilating and then it just goes away. It used to freak me out but now I am used to it. Does anyone know why they do this?

ghost cat picsI believe my cat is atleast part Russian Gray, do you think so?
He is a completely grey cat with pretty green eyes but has these stripes when the sun hits him just right; I thought I was imagining it when I first noticed it last year (he is approx 4 years old and I got him from someone when he was approx 1 1/2 yrs. old who was moving into a small apartment and could not take him).....he also has a very small splatch of white under his neck...very small. If you did not see him in the sun and catch his coat just right......you would think.......as I thought, that he was a solid grey...........he's beautiful and mysterious looking........wish I had a pick...but I get cat fancy magazine and this months edition featured russian grays......I also went online to see pics.........and he looks exactly like them only there is a little tuft of white under his neck...........and at age 4 would you still be able to see his "ghost stripes."

Most people who owned Russians would be very careful not to let them breed outside the pure line. They also have a very different feel to most cats as they have a "double coat". Probably not. Russian Blue cats are extremely hard to come by, and come from very controlled breeding. So your cat is most likely what is called a blue domestic shorthair.

I believe the breed is called Russian Blue, because they are blue in color, a cats blue. What you have is a domestic short hair cat or what some call a Wannabee! Without the proper registration papers stating his parents and their registration numbers the breeder and cattery where he came from. He is just a domestic cat. And a Russian blue would never have a locket or white on his neck. That is considered a fault in the cat world. The only cats I saw that you may of thought of is a british short hair unless I am looking at the wrong issue.

Probably not. Russian Blue cats are extremely hard to come by, and come from very controlled breeding. So your cat is most likely what is called a blue domestic shorthair.

I believe the breed is called Russian Blue, because they are blue in color, a cats blue. What you have is a domestic short hair cat or what some call a Wannabee! Without the proper registration papers stating his parents and their registration numbers the breeder and cattery where he came from. He is just a domestic cat. And a Russian blue would never have a locket or white on his neck. That is considered a fault in the cat world. The only cats I saw that you may of thought of is a british short hair unless I am looking at the wrong issue.

I think China's conduct is to stop their people learning the truth by denying them the opportunity of making real comparisons between government by dictatorship or by democracy. They lack innovation and are enjoying substantial growth by imitating the West's manufacturing and marketing techniques. Once they lose their 'cheap labour' advantage they will start to lose market share. For instance, do you think Chinese workers enjoy the same employment rights as Western workers? If you or any foreign national tried to secure employment in China what do you think the chances of success would be? When we are all playing from a level playing field the West's experience, innovation, fair working practises and free society will prevail. The Chinese government will not be able to keep their population in the dark for much longer.

We have been divorced 3 years and I keep my kids every weekend and any time I can during the week. My x is talking about moving them to another state away from me while pointing out the divorce papers state she is able to move anywere regardless of geographic location. Her prepaid legal did the divorce papers.
if thats what the court order says then she can do it...you can change your order you know? file a motion to have it changed...contact an attorney for advice on it and dont just sit around talking about it, do something.

My parents did that when I was a kid and they split up. My husbands ex wanted to move to alaska and could not because he has a visitation order that could not be held up if she were to move there. He does not have joint custody and she still was not allowed to move that far.

Then she would have to seek permission from the courts if she wanted to move, but she would have to have a REALLY good reason to move like a spouse is in the army or a job offer making double what she makes...etc. The court can not force her to stay where she is but they can force her not to take the kids with her.

It might be trickily, but a good lawyer knows legal prescident from other cases. Also, you might be able to state that it is your intent to maintain regular parental ties, which she is denying you...You then can claim 'parental aprepaid legal divorcelienation' which is a form of child abuse. I'd certainly google that term and look at its broad implications in your arguments. That means if she moves far away, she is actually,. committing child abuse punishable by jail time and a reversal of custody should you desire it. If she wants a good fight and possibility jail time, let her try. She could be extradited back to your locale and jailed for CHILD ABUSE, the way I see it.

video chat with santaI am not able to video chat with my girlfriend on iChat & iDK what the problem is. Help?
I have a white MacBook & it's updated to Version 10.5.8 (iDK whether that's Leopard, Tiger, etc.)
When I try to video chat with my laptop with my girlfriend who lives in San Jose (I live in San Diego), the video tries to start, but it stops & says "There was a communication error during your chat."
I kvideo chat with santanow it is not iChat because I have tested it by video-chatting with my desktop in the same household. I also know that it's not the internet connection because I am able to chat from the desktop here to my girlfriend's laptop in San Jose.
This same problem occurred when I was in Santa Cruz (by San Jose) & trievideo chat with santad video chatting while she was in San Diego. I don't believe it's the distance because I was able to video-chat from my brother's house (also located in Santa Cruz) to my house down here.
Any suggestions?

don't eat fishI have seen that i m eating fish in my nightmare although i don,t eat fish in my common meals.?
i saw that i m eating fish like an animal , i didn,t like the taste yet i eated the whole fish.it was bad & i was feeling bad.

I have nightmares about fish. I was traumatized by them as a kid. We had this aquarium and my mom put it right in the kitchen. Well, all the fish died eventually and my mom never cleaned them out. I asked her if I should do it or help her do it and she was just like, "no, no, I'll do it."
She never did get around to it. The dead fish started to decompose and flake apdon't eat fishart (it looked like cooked fish when it flakes ... just ewww) and then you could see the head separate and it was attached to a piece of the body by a weird cord thing ... I think that might have been its spine or something. The eyes decomposed too, which was really freaky looking. And I had to stare at this damn disgusting mess right in the kitchen for months.
Since then I haven't been able to look at fish or smell fish without feeling like I'm going to throw up. I can't even swim in a lake or ocean because I'm so freaked out by tdon't eat fishhe fact that there's fish in there. I had a recurring nightmare once that there were dead fish floating in my bathtub ... I would be taking a bath and then they would start floating up from the drain. And I had another that I was eating soup and dead fish starting floating up out of the bowl.
probably you thought some time in past to taste it, that's why you got dream, how you can eat whole fish if u don't like ... :) in dream also
