Well it depends on what sort of MP3 player you have. There should be a cable which allows you to plug it into you laptop, from your device. The alternative is that your device have a USB plug as part of the actual device.

1.Once the MP3 player is plugged into you laptop, you can either use a application like Realplayer, or you can go to My Computer/Removable Disk (depends where you plug it into(Note: The name of the removable disk drive may be called something like the brand or model name of your MP3 player). Once you have opened up the Removable Disk download mp3 songsdrive, there should be a file for Audio. copy the Music file into that file.

2.With Realplayer go to to download it, and then install it and all of that stuff. Once installed, open it up and connect your MP3 player to your computer. Once connected, Realplayer should register that it is there and open it up. If not use step 1.

If you want to use music off of your CDs Download an CD audio to MP3 converter (search for one on google). Then convert your Cds and copy onto your MP3 player.

What sort of mp3 player is it?
The majority of mp3 players should come with a cable which connects it to your computer/laptop. You should use that.
If you haven't got a cable, I suggest buying a separate one which is compatible with your machine.
