freeware software definitionDo you know of any drafting and design software that I can use on my laptop?

I'm looking for something that doesn't have all the bells and whistles for professional use. I'm seeking software that enables me to do simple line drawings for around-the-house projects which would mostly be sheds, furniture and towing trailers.

I've just begun to look around and don't want to spend more than say $500 (US). I'll consider freeware if the site is reputable.

Like I said, I'm looking for functionality but not as busy as AutoCAD nor as simple as Microsoft Paint.

I use it all the time (for quick accurfreeware software definitionate sketching, and quick 3D stuff).
Super easy to learn, and not only the ability to do regular 2D line drawings, but easily do 3D drawings as well. Best part is it's absolutely free.

Try Smartdraw, Visio Technical or Visio 2007. Sketchup also has accompanying programs like Layout and Style Builder. But I suggest you use Autocad for drafting.
